Rosehill 6th grader radio guest at RMN DZXL

6th grader from PAREF Rosehill School, radio guest at ‘Buhay, Pamilya at Bayan’

“I encourage all of our young listeners to go out, lead and serve, to contribute to a better Philippines,” said Karen Racelis, a 6th grader from PAREF Rosehill School in Antipolo. Last 19 February 2012, in the radio program “Buhay, Pamilya at Bayan”, aired every Sunday from 11am to 12nn at Radyo Mindanao Network (RMN), the host covered the topic “Pagsasanay ng mga Kabataan sa Pagiging Lider” [Training the Youngsters in Leadership] and invited 3 young leaders to be her guests.  Racelis spoke about her leadership training experiences in PAREF Rosehill’s Young Leaders in Action (YLA): she said that training camps, regular outreach activities, urban and rural service projects, gift-giving and providing cheer to poor children, are among the many activities carried out from the leadership club. She said that she developed the slogan “LEAP” for next years Junior Student Council, which stands for “Leadership and Excellence through Allied Perseverance”, emphasizing the need for unity and harmony among students as well as the constant exercise of perseverance and hard work to achieve success in daily student leadership duties.

Racelis was joined on the radio program by Liezel Tamon (University of the Philippines Diliman freshman) and Joan Ponce de Leon (University of Asia and the Pacific freshman): the latter two are beneficiaries of LEAD Leadership Program under the auspices of the Kalinangan Youth Foundation (KALFI), a 4-year leadership training program for female University students that boasts of a personalized mentoring (one-on-one coaching) system and a focus on servant and moral leadership, in addition to allowances given to the students every Semester and regular Leadership Training Modules. “I admire the guidance, generosity and availability of my mentors, who give of themselves in order to guide me along the right path in what refers to my professional career, self-discovery, and areas for self-improvement,” said Ponce de Leon.

Racelis is among the finalists in the “Tang Galing Kids” awards competition, through which Tang wishes to recognize young children who can bring a refreshing change to the community.  Seven of the 15 finalists are to receive a cash prize of P100,000 each.  For details about PAREF Rosehill School, please visit: http://parefrosehill.org/.  For more about the KALFI LEAD program, please check: http://kalfilead.blogspot.com/

The 2011 “Real Love Revolution” campaign commenced Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, with the first event of the series of talks featuring American speaker Jason Evert.

The event held at the University of the Philippines Theater and organized by the UA&P Student Executive Board and UP Klub Tala also included a talk show and variety show where today’s young personalities shared their take on the meaning of love, sexuality and relationships.

It was to the Feb. 24, afternoon, talk at the AFP Teatro Aguinaldo that PAREF-Rosehill girls went.  Here’s the comment by the daughter of one of the organizers of that afternoon’s event: “Hey, Jason. I just wanted to say thank you for touching so many people. I was so surprised and glad when your message reached so many of my peers. You also made me and my mom (one of the event organizers) really happy for your astounding talk at Teatro Aguinaldo. I really hope that you bring your message to teens and adults all over the world. I hope to see you in the World Youth Day in Madrid in August! 🙂 “

But the most crowded talk was the one at SMX Mall of Asia on Sunday, Feb. 27.  Estimates put the attendance at the full capacity of 12,000.  What a revolution! C’mon! Join us and Jason Evert in this ‘Real Love Revolution’!

Rosehill School Eucharistic Adoration

PAREF-Rosehill School Eucharistic Adoration, 18 February 2011

The Rosehill Eucharistic Procession was prepared many weeks ahead of time, with special attention to the FLORAL CARPET (see shots, below) on which Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament would ‘tread’ as the Priest carries Him on the special Procession Monstrance.  Some students were dressed as Angels, who were going to accompany Our Lord throughout the Procession.

PAREF-Rosehill Chapel

Groundbreaking Ceremonies

8 September 2010, 9am

Last September 8th was the Groundbreaking Rite for the new

PAREF-Rosehill Chapel ! 🙂

We ask you to pray a lot for this project!

Following the groundbreaking was TREE-PLANTING by Rosehill students.

We share here some shots…

We likewise share here the words of Ms. Rivor, Science Teacher, to introduce the TREE-PLANTING:

Tree-planting has been considered one of the major activities that schools and companies do to help improve the present condition of our environment and the future generation. Despite the busy schedules of these people they still find time to plant a tree and encourage other people to do the same. One question pops like a bubble on my head when I read about tree-planting activities, “Why not just ask the manongs and manangs plant a tree for us?” Then I realize that the whole tree-planting activity is more than just planting a tree. It is to directly experience planting, caring and nurturing a tree. It promotes advocacy of environmental concerns, particularly the value of trees – their role in global warming and flood control, awareness of greening and beautification of school and community surroundings and family bonding.

Included in God’s noblest love for mankind is His giving us Mother Earth but stressing man’s duty to be stewards of His creation by keeping the environment healthy and clean. Though our surroundings now might not be in its original, perfect form as it was before, we should still have hope that we could do something to make it a lot better. Now, we realize that we are not just planting a tree but also planting a hope for our future, a future of a greener Earth for all of us.

Book “Crossing the Tiber:
Evangelical Protestants Discover the Historical Church”

Stephen K. Ray

An exhilarating conversion story of a devout Baptist who relates how he overcame his hostility to the Catholic Church by a combination of serious Bible study and vast research of the writings of the early Church Fathers. In addition to a moving account of their conversion that caused Ray and his wife to “cross the Tiber” to Rome, he offers an in-depth treatment of Baptism and the Eucharist in Scripture and the ancient Church.

Thoroughly documented with hundreds of footnotes, this contains perhaps the most complete compilation of biblical and patristic quotations and commentary available on Baptism and the Eucharist, as well as a detailed analysis of Sola Scriptura and Tradition.
